About Homer
I was born and raised in Minnesota before moving east for college. I spent four years at Marshall University and made the most of my time at MU; involved with WMUL-FM, The Parthenon, Student Senate, Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and the Yeager Scholar program. I couldn’t get enough of Appalachia so I went to Ohio University for graduate school. Two degrees later (MBA and Master’s of Sports Administration), I found myself in Detroit Rock City as an intern with the Detroit Lions.
After nine months in the Motor City, creating highlight tapes (yes the Lions did have highlights that season) and shooting for the weekly coaches show, I found myself back on the job market. My search ended with a new job at GMR Marketing in Milwaukee, WI. Nearly five years later, I’m still at GMR managing the NASCAR relationship for Miller Lite Racing.
On the personal front, I met the woman of my dreams at work (the fishing was great off the company pier!) - Kari Polczynski. We started dating in June of 2006, I proposed in February of 2007 and got married April 19, 2008. I’m expecting my first child - a beautiful little girl - at the end of March 2009.
I love my family and feel blessed for all the friends I’ve had around me over the years. I’m loving life and ready for the journey of fatherhood. Follow along and please enjoy the journey with me!
